- Documents for 2008. The Documents for the club will be put on the club website for downloading. Ridge will not be mailing these in future. The confirmation form, signed by the club pro must be sent to Ridge by mail by December 3rd, 2007.
- Al Byrd requested that all monthly rosters be submitted to him by noon Thursday prior to the match. If a player has not played in the last year, his index is required. The roster should be submitted on one page.
- Dick Gemmett reported that our current bank balance is $2,983.48
- The tournament dates and times were confirmed for 2008. These will be on the website.
- It was moved that Darkness to Light not be considered one of our charities for this year and also moved that $2,000 be given to East Cooper Meals on Wheels. Phil Bees will prepare a check for presentation at the Rivertowne match.
- The addition of Patriot’s Point golf club to the Interclub was discussed in detail. It was decided that Steve Windich and Ridge Britton will meet with the representatives of Patriot’s Point to determine an agreeable date. There was concern that all clubs may not be able to handle a field of 130 players so the addition of Patriot’s Point is subject to all current clubs being able to accommodate a full field of 130.
- It was moved that effective immediately, professionals may not participate in the Interclub matches. USGA definitions of professional and amateur will apply.
- The slate of officers was approved. The following will be the officers for 2008: President, Steve Windich; Treasurer, Dick Gemmett; Tournament Director, Ridge Britton; Handicap Director, Al Byrd.
- The Pine Forest club will have a new director for 2008. Dave George will be the new director. Thanks to Phil Bees for his service on the board.
- It was moved that dues for 2008 will be increased to $30. Half of the increase will be given to the golf club and the other half will be added to the prize fund for distribution.
- A discussion of members following golf rules took place. It was decided that members should be reminded that USGA rules apply to all matches and it is the individual golfer’s responsibility to make sure that all rules are followed and correct scores are posted. If a disagreement ensues, the card should not be signed and it should be brought to the club’s director’s attention.
- It was decided that for Dunes West only, the forward white tees will be used in future. A move to have older players move up to forward tees at other clubs did not pass.
- It was re-iterated that distance devices will not be allowed.
- Rivertowne questioned whether being disqualified for only having 7 players is fair. The reason for this is the score would not be accurate as the 8th player could have been a minus, thus affecting the standings. In addition, we have an obligation to guarantee a certain number of golfers to the clubs and we came to the decision that a minimum of 8 is required. After discussion, it was decided to leave this rule as is.
- A discussion ensued about the current method of increasing and decreasing points. It was decided that the current system is fair and does not favor one club over another so this will be left as is.
- Meeting adjourned
