The Charleston Men's Interclub Golf Association retains a small percentage of
every entry fee throughout the year in order to be in a position to distribute a
sizeable check to 1 or 2 local charities each year. The presentation of the
check normally takes place at the January tournament so that all the
participants are there to share in the spirit of giving. The Interclub has given
over $75,000 to charities in the local Charleston SC area.

In 2024, the Interclub members once again were able to give to
two different
charities that support the low country area: First Tee-Greater
Charleston and Holy City Missions.
First
Tee-Greater Charleston, which was established in 2008, is a local
501(c)(3) serving young people, ages 5-18, from all walks of life. They
utilize
on-course, in-school, and community programs to teach the game of golf and
its inherent values to more than 17,000 children each year in Charleston,
Berkeley, and Dorchester counties.
But they’re more than a golf program....they’re a youth development
organization backed by enthusiastic donors, coaches, and volunteers who want
to give Charleston Area young people every possible advantage. Accepting
a
check from the Interclub President Jim Petros for $ 2,200 is xxx, xxx of

Holy City
Missions' mission is to serve the poor and alleviate poverty in the
Tri-county area with the hope and strength of the Gospel. Holy City
Missions' goal is to reduce the immediate
effects of poverty and to equip neighbors to find sustainable means of
support. With the help of their volunteers and very gracious donors they
are able to offer many different services for neighbors of Charleston, SC -
such as a Food Bank, Clothes Closet, Warming
Shelter, Soup Kitchen, and other needed services in the community.
